Economics applies to all aspects in life, which includes jobs, personal saving, individule life, etc. Economics is concerning with production, distribution, and consumption and further more. When I said production, it refers not only to the production of factories, but also refers to individual production. For instance, when we go to work we produce wealth, or money. After we produced these resources we have to distribute them. We might take partial of it to aid our families, and save some of it for our retirements. After distribution is consumption, there is no way for us to avoid consumption. We have to buy goods in order to keep ourselves alive
